The Volvo XC90: A Lot to Love with No Gimmicks

In the increasingly crowded SUV marketplace, some automotive brands go out of their way to make sure that their models stand out. Not only is that not always a good thing-one wrong design decision and you've got a vehicle with a grille that's distinctive, sure, but polarizing among drivers with different tastes-it's also not always necessary.

The latter is definitely the case when it comes to the Volvo XC90. This luxury SUV doesn't try too hard to stand out. It stands out, rather, because it executes everything it does extremely well.

That's not to say it's not a striking SUV to behold: Its exterior is distinctly Volvo, without being too flashy. And inside the high-class, luxurious interior, you'll find nothing lacking. You'll love the clean simplicity of its cabin, which is simultaneously exquisitely equipped with premium features and as quietly understated as a true luxury vehicle should be.

The XC90 doesn't have to do backflips to get drivers' attention because it's a stellar SUV in every conceivable way. It's confident and self-assured-and it has earned the right to be.

If this Scandinavian standout appeals to your desire for refinement, Berglund Volvo Cars of Lynchburg invites you to come to our dealership and explore our inventory in person. Slide into the driver's seat and see how you feel behind the wheel. Explore the XC90's many desirable features-from technology and driver-assistance to safety and comfort-and prepare to complete the process of being won over.

And if, for whatever reason, you find that this is not the Volvo model for you, you're in the right place- is varied and appealing, and we feel certain you'll find the car you've been looking for among our selection.

What's New on the 2021 Volvo XC90?

Volvo now offers the Care Key feature for 2021, allowing you to program speed limits for your XC90 whenever another driver is at the wheel. The dash now sports a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster as standard equipment, and front parking sensors now come in the upper trims. The City Safety driver assistance tool also comes with a new active steering support function as well. Building on the XC90's onboard elegance, various trims feature upscale amenities like the R-Design's Nappa leather in and the T8 Inscription's Orrefors crystal shifter.

Cruising Through History in the Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 first hit showroom floors in 2003 and was instantly prized for its luxurious appointments, sumptuous interior, and ample safety systems. The following year upgraded the XC90's wheels and tires and added Ice White to its line of color options.

In 2006, Volvo introduced an all-wheel drive system and a new model, the Ocean Race Edition V8. The next several years brought about an updated exterior body style, upgraded standard features including a tire pressure monitoring system and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and tweaks to trim levels. 2010 models received some major changes in the way of standard third-row seats, smoother handling, and rear parking assist technology.

The XC90 has remained on the cutting edge with tech features throughout its history and continues to not just meet but exceed driver expectation in the realm of standard equipment.
